Principal's Message

It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome all of you to the 2020-2021 school year at LeGore Elementary, Home of the Aztecs. It is a great privilege to serve as LeGore principal and work with all of the students and families that are part of our school.
We hold high expectations for student learning and behavior to promote success. This year as a Leader In Me Lighthouse School we will continue empowering students to learn and practice the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.    These habits will provide students the tools to develop their full potential. Additionally and most importantly, these habits will help students to develop into tomorrow's leaders.
Our school culture thrives on building a sense of community amongst all that is safe, nurturing, and engaging. We foster a sense of pride in our students by conducting daily morning announcements that include our 7 habits pledge. Additionally, every Friday morning we gather as a school community for our school cheer and Aztec shout out.
College awareness is one of the areas of focus at LeGore. Every class adopts a college and learns about the path to college. At LeGore we recognize it is never too early to start planning for the future.
Technology is another area of focus.  All students have access to one of our several computer labs where they can use a variety of websites as well as site purchased programs to enrich and accelerate instruction. Additionally, students in 1st  - 6th grades have one to one devices that will allow them to have the opportunity to use Google Classroom as part of their instruction. With our technology focus, we continue to prepare our students to meet the rigor that is central to the Common Core State Standards.
Parents are always welcome at LeGore.  Our school is fortunate to have a Parent/Community Liaison that works closely with families by providing workshops and other valuable resources. We encourage all parents to get involved in our school events and committees.
Please feel free to contact us with your questions, comments, or concerns as they arise throughout the school year. We hope that each and every student has a positive and successful experience at LeGore Elementary School where "Our Leaders are Out of This World."

Warmly,
Adriana GarcĂa
